Comment by Tim Adams September 30, 2008 @ 10:34 pmI wonder if N. Carolina residents are aware of the processing of ‘low level’ nuclear waste in Oak Ridge, and Memphis,TN. Some of this ‘processing’ involves burning the waste, and releasing some that they say is not radio-active, even though it is. As western NC residents, we are directly down-wind and down-stream of the effects of this incineration and release.
Comment by Chris October 10, 2008 @ 8:19 pmI wonder if NC residents are even notified of when these incinerations and releases are taking place. However ’safe’ they are supposed to be, I can’t imagine it is good for the environment or the people living here.
I would hope the public awareness of this issue would increase, and that our legislative representatives will be addressing this issue in our best interest in the very near future.
